Located in the Colonial Mall in downtown St. Michael is a fully accessible library available to residents to check out books, read magazines or use any of the other resources available to them. The Roy Simms Community Library is part of the larger Great River Regional Library system which has more than 32 branches over the central Minnesota region. On your visits to the library, the staff can suggest books based on your interest, offer children's reading programs to encourage literacy from a very young age and also provide high speed Internet access. The Roy Simms Community Library has over 600 magazine titles, 70 daily periodicals from around the world, thousands of books and much more. The Crow River Senior Center, located at 405 East Central Avenue in downtown St. Michael, offers programs and activities to help keep senior residents active. Field trips, classes and recreational opportunities offer ways for seniors to form relationships with other seniors in the community in a fun and active atmosphere. Noon meals are also provided from Tuesday through Friday for only $3.50 and the center also offers a Meals on Wheels program and a senior transportation service. St. Michael has several parks and trails throughout the community which provides clean and safe natural areas for resident to enjoy. The Family Youth Community Connections (FYCC) is a program designed to organize activities in various parks throughout St. Michael, including Arts in the Park, Reading in the Park, performances, Father/Daughter Dances and more. Walnut Park is one of the parks in the area which includes more than 10 acres of area that has playground equipment, sport fields, a half court basketball, parking lot and more. Highwoods Park is an eight acre park at Frankfort Parkway and Mason Avenue and it has similar amenities.

Veolia Water Corporation manages the sewer and water facilities in St. Michael. Residents are billed for their sewage based on their usage over the winter months. Bills are mailed out each month and your rates are evaluated once a year to make sure you are being billed accurately.
